Support
To be successful, Quakers Hill Girl Guides requires the support of parents and interested members of the community to ensure that Guiding continues to be available for girls in the local area.
Volunteering moral and practical support to the girls helps foster a community spirit and helps them to grow and develop. Parents should:
- Take an interest what the girls do at Girl Guides;
- Encourage and recognise the achievements of the girls and the unit;
- Attend the Support Group meetings and unit events;
- Help out at activities, outings and events;
- Assist in maintaining the hall;
- Offer to share their skills with the girls and the leaders;
- Show appreciation for our leaders - they are volunteers too! A simple thanks or an offer of help can really go a long way!
Fundraising
The funds we raise go towards providing resources to the Leaders and the girls as well as maintenance and upkeep of the hall. Like any community organisation, fundraising is vital to cover operating costs. Our fundraising initiatives include:- Cadbury Chocolate Fundraisers
- Bunnings BBQs.
Fundraising also helps to minimise the direct out of pocket costs of guiding to parents, helping to keep it affordable and attractive.
All of these initiatives require the support of the guiding parent community for success.
